Trenge Bout Results

In just his first two seasons, Jon has positioned himself to be one of Lehigh’s all-time best wrestlers, placing 2nd at NCAAs to Cael Sanderson in his 1st trip to that tourney, as a sophomore. As a freshman, Trenge defeated the first, second, fourth and fifth placers in regular season bouts, but missed Nationals due to surgery for a detached retina which give him an unusual distinction for the rest of his career the first college wrestler ever to wear eye protection in competition.  His freestyle credits include titles at Junior National (Greco & free, 1999), Junior World Team Trials (2001) and the University Nationals in 2002.  After dominating everyone but Sanderson at the 2002 NCAAs, he is on target to become Lehigh’s finest ever at 190/197 and its first national champion.
